Come board your horse at Hunters Creek East, a beautiful facility located on the North Fork of Long Island. We are more of a private barn, so your horse will recieve hands on care and be treated like one of our own. Horses get grain and hay 3x a day. Our stalls are all 12x12 with windows that look over their paddocks and the vineyard that backs up to the barn. Our paddocks are all grass and big enough for the horses to run in. We have a beautiful riding ring with excellent footing and a full course of jumps. If you enjoy riding out of an arena we also have acess to ride in the 25 acres of vineyards that surround our barn.

STALL FOR RENT ON CONNETQUOT PARK ISLIP SIDE
We have 2 stalls for rent on Connetquot Park. They are both box stalls with rubber mats. We are located right on the Park and go from the gate right into the Park with no distance at all.
We are a quiet 7 stall setup with 2 barns and turn out. Our menu is flexible and we are basically trail riders. We are simple and uncomplicated. Supplements are no problem. All horses are wormed on schedule by the barn included in the board. Horse stalls and paddocks are cleaned daily. Full Board is 600! Sorry but we cannot take horses with issues like cribbing, weaving, aggressiveness etc.

Task Force Report
Hi Everyone,
I attended the (Suffolk Equestrian Task Force) meeting in Huntington last
night. Unfortunately, very few attendees ----I had read through a copy of
26 pages of the document and an appendix of horse organizations (there was
quite a bit more to the report that was available to take at the meeting).
After the panel explained how the Task Force & report came to be, and what
the goals were, they invited comments from the audience. I appreciate their
hard work and the document reflects a lot of thought and effort to be
comprehensive. That said, they are missing some organizations and are
looking for more ideas and comments. We all will need to brainstorm , and
lots more horse people need to show up at the next 2 meetings. Once the
open forums finish and the task force report is tweaked ----the panel will
be bringing this info to the town & village officials who have the zoning
power and therefore, power to make changes. Officials need to see that we
are involved and really care about what happens. That means the entire
varied horse community must come together.
We also need to bring the document and formation of an equestrian task
force to the attention of the Nassau County Legislature, so that perhaps we
can improve the situation here as well.

I planted this when Rose passed away. It was less than 3 inches tall and I am not good with plants! It was a Rose of Sharon which I felt was appropriate because I am Sharyn and this was for my Rose. Rose was the message board moderator for Long Island Equine. Rose and I met when she asked me to list her house for sale. I did sell the house and Rose moved off the Island, the website kept Rose informed. Rose was able to still be a part of the Long Island horse crowd. Most important to Rose was her IHA friends.
She and I became friends from that day she called me over to her house. That was how Rose became the moderator; Rose insisted that she do it because it was not being done properly in her opinion. Rose was outstanding and did go over and above what she had to do. Rose would even do research for people. She became a loyal and trusted friend. I miss her humor and friendship.
I went into the LIHP yard today, my Rose is in bloom. I want to share with everyone who loved Rose how this plant has survived with me as the caretaker.

Jenny Guzzi Lessons English and Western PHOTO IS "JENNY" first show. I feel that when you are looking for a trainer, you should be able to see their qualifications. Please feel free to call me with any questions you may have. Qualifications: I have competed in both aspects of riding since the age of 3. My first show was short stirrup at Salt River, where I took home my first blue. Whether it be at the Hampton's or IHA, I was always in the blues. In Western I have barrel raced and did team penning for many years and some rodeos. I am currently a graduate of Dowling College where my major was teaching. I rode on the equestrain team to help pay my tuition. I am a certified vet tech, which is great for my career as a professional trainer. I am also a licensed realtor, and am able to show or sell homes for any of my customers or clients.
My father, Dean Guzzi, is a horse blacksmith My mother, Sharyn Guzzi, is the owner of Long Island Horse Properties, Inc.. My grandma rides & owns horses as well. My life has never been without horses. I currently own 20+ horses of my own which include some of my school horses and sale horses. I have never had a trainer ride any horse I owned. My parents would purchase green horses yearly for me and I would train and sell them. Each year I would show the new project horses that I was working on.

She has shown on the local show circuit as a youth, then moving on to Quarter horse as both a youth and amateur rider. While showing on the Quarter Horse Circuit Michelle has won many all around awards and QH Circuit awards, she was also the winner of the Region 5 Western Pleasure award, and the prestigious Northeast QH Blue Ribbon Saddle in Mass with Hot Chocolate Chunk. Michelle has added numerous futurity winnings, and has ridden on the Regional, National, and World Circuits. To her record she added a Reserve Champion in Western Pleasure on 4yr old Don’t Skip Zippo and Grand Champion in HUS on Diamond Collection at the Appaloosa World Horse Show. In addition; as a youth she was Reserve in Halter at the POA World Show with Mucho Ramblin Rose and as an Amateur 5th at Congress in Halter, with Coolest Bright Star.

Closed Home Sales in June Boom Fueled by Tax Credit Deadline
The Multiple Listing Service of Long Island, Inc. released June Long Island housing figures recently and reported a combined 3,885 closed home sales for Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk counties.June’s closed sales activity represents the second highest month ever reported by MLSLI for the number of monthly closed transactions as homebuyers were motivated to close their transactions before the expected June 30th tax credit deadline.However, at the last minute the Senate passed the bill that included extending the tax credit closing date to September 30th for eligible transactions.
Many would-be June buyers bought during the tax credit period, so as expected, June contracted sales posted a 21 percent decrease from June 2009.The tax credit incentive seems to have shifted buyers forward into March and April, who possibly would have purchased their home in May and June.
The Long Island closed median home price of $367,500 is the same as it was last year at this time, however each of the three counties that make up the Multiple Listing Service of Long Island, reported ups and downs when comparing prices to a year ago.Nassau County reported a June 2010 closed median home price of $415,000, representing a 2.3 percent increase over last year.Suffolk County reported a closed median home price of $336,250 compared to $329,500 a year prior, which represents a 2 percent increase.Queens continues to see prices soften and reported a closed median price of $320,000 for June 2010, representing an 8.6 percent decline over the year prior.
Joseph E. Mottola, MLSLI CEO said, “Home sales on Long Island for the first half of this year are exceeding last year’s figures by 47 percent.Buyers were obviously motivated by the tax credit during the first half of this year, however, improving consumer confidence and favorable affordability conditions that include buyers access to historically low mortgage rates, will insure that the market will remain vibrant in the second half of the year.”

"Mommy and Me" Program at Project Sage Horse Rescue
Project Sage Horse Rescue is starting a new program at our new farm in Northport. We are looking for horse lovers 16 and older that want to come to the farm and spend time one on one with a rescue horse. You will be assigned one horse to work with and spend time with. Each horse will have two "Mommy's". We have many horses that need TLC and this program gives the horses a chance to have a one-on-one relationship with someone until they are adopted. Your responsibility will be working on ground manners, grooming, and riding. You will be responsible for the over all care of the horse. We always have older retired horses that just need to be pampered. All applicants MUST be experienced with horses. References will be checked and there is a short interview process. This is a great program for people who are looking to help the rescue horses become more adoptable.

25 Acre farm in Rochester NY has a few openings for horse retirement. We offer large grass pastures or smaller dirt pastures. All the fencing is brand new PVC or wood. Horses go out all day and come into large stalls at night. Stalls are cleaned 7 days per week and bedded with shavings. We feed ultium or a pellet sweetfeed mix. Horses get grain and hay 2x per day. Retired horses get groomed and bathed every week. We schedule all vet and farrier visits. There is no charge for holding for the vet/farrier, blanket changes,grooming or worming. Ponytales Rescue recently aquired a gorgeous 400 are farm in Waymart PA. We have decided to offer retirement, and lay-up boarding, with proceeds going to our rescue horses.
We offer boarding for lay-ups and retirees here at Waymart Equestrian. Stalls are 10x12 (24x12 foaling stall available as well for an additional fee). Stalls are matted and we use pelleted wood bedding. We have an indoor training ring, and will hopefully have a 2nd indoor riding arena done by next year. All horses are offered free choice grass and hay unless owner specifies otherwise. Feeding is done on an individual basis according to each horses needs. There are no extra charges for feed, your horse gets what your horse needs to keep him/her sound and healthy. All horses are brought in to individual stalls to eat, there is no competition for food. Turn-out is strictly up to the owner. If you would like your horse out 24/7 then it will be (except when it comes in to eat). If your horse is on stall rest, not a problem. If you want a mixture of stall time and turn-out time again no problem. We have group and individual turn-out areas. All horses will be treated as one of our own. We ask that you leave brushes, fly spray, shampoo and your horse will be brushed daily, fly spray applied, and bathed when needed (no extra charges). We also blanket according to your horses needs during the colder months at no extra charge. We also hold your horse for the vet and farrier at no extra charge. The only thing you will pay for besides our board rate is supplements that you wish your horse to be on, de-wormer, vet, and farrier. Our current board rate is $350/month or $12/day.
Workshops and riding adventures are designed for those wanting to improve their confidence, communication, and riding skills with horses and resolve issues in a safe manner.
